I’ll be remiss if I keep allowing time to pass without mentioning this great book. I purchased this book around 2014 I believe, but I just got to it on this year. WHY DID I DO THAT? I read this book back in April, and it’s a keeper for sure!
This book is small. The chapters are brief. But the insightful content and counsel of each is big. I tremendously enjoyed reading this small book. Anyone approaching this book to read will need multiple highlighters handy for this one. This book is great!
The title is a book towards encouragement. I wasn’t down in my spirit when grabbing it to read, yet its content is so helpful if I was. The author is a preacher. He’s called “The preacher’s preacher.” He said that he just wanted to write an encouraging book given the times. . . Well, that’s exactly what happened. We all need to be told, “The Bumps Are What You Climb On” when life becomes difficult.
For anyone who believes in God, or is unsure about him, give this book attention. The scriptures say, “O taste and see that the LORD is good: Blessed is the man that trusteth in him” (Psalm 34:8). Sex, drugs, liquor, covetousness are all vices used to replace God, but there is no substitute for him. Support local bookstores and get your copy here: https://bookshop.org/a/56410/9780801018817
