Elliot Brent is a Christian Nonfiction author.  This occupation is nothing that I ever envisioned or conspired; although, I have always been a writer. I have a childhood journal that I used to write in from when I was eight years of age. My older brother had a  Mickey Mouse journal when we were kids, and inside thereof was a page filled with words: and simply opening his “Mickey Mouse book” and seeing the sight of a thoroughly filled page of words, stacked together, line after line, captured me. I voiced that I wanted a journal too, and I sought to replicate the same glory within mines. But this captivation with writing carried on throughout my life. From elementary to college, I would resort to my pen to pass time. And, from hospital beds to the outpouring of my soul, a pen or a pencil is again the utensil that I would come to again hold.

 

I never saw myself as a writer until the Lord had brought that to my attention. This was only after I had inquired of him while I was in college, "God, what am I supposed to be doing," having a stroke, coming back home, and while sitting in my room reading. It's a very long story, but God began to instruct me to write a book in the midst of me being home rehabilitating from the stroke. I did so, and the book was terrible to me: so I forsook my pen and walked away from God. But a year later, God returned his instruction to me and encouraged me that this is what I am supposed to be doing by recalling my past to me of my uncanny enjoyment, ease, and contrivance with writing. That was in 2012. Thus, here I am, moving forward in what I am called and placed here to do. 

     

I am a minister of the word of God. Currently, teaching is my role in the fivefold ministry. My appeal is to the intellect of man unto the reconciling of men unto God. Salvation is a matter of the heart, and that regeneration first begins with belief. I was one who, in times past,  have used my writing ability erroneously, but this is me now using the dexterity of my heart, mind, and soul unto the Father, he who has shown great love towards me.

SlingShotMinistries is about one being a light in this dark world (Matthew 5:16), salt to the earth (Matthew 5:13), and peacemakers ( Matthew 5:9). Believers in Christ are called unto God for the sole purpose of believing.

            As one believes, they begin to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Christ combatted the works of Satan—the adversary—and SlingshotMinistries is dedicated to doing the same.

            Time has not come for me to move any further in this endeavor. However, merchandise is available along with the literature to empower one to stand, be separate, follow God, and just believe.
